Trail of Tears

And through a "Trail of Tears"
what did we learn?

Hopefully that evil sometimes
hides in
things we yearn

When we take what's not ours
and lives are taken
in this quest

we loose in the end a piece
of ourselves, perhaps the part
that was best...

Oh how shall me mend the
ways of a wicked past
and the cost above all
of a tortured Race
who shows not the bitterness
in their Soul or the sadness
in their face

of all the tragedies befallen
after all these years...

We must never forget as a People
what was left behind in the bloody Wind

a gain of land or something else
so inconsequential, let's never again

want something so bad,

it leaves behind forever
a Trail of Tears.
